Resource Thread MK III

Third time’s the charm, eh?

So, this thread’s purpose is to help showcase the resources of any particular nation, to help folks determine who they should be opening trading ties with. In the past these threads focused solely on the trade aspects that made the nations unique from one another, ignoring general industry and trade groups that would be common across multiple nations. It also ignored how those nations functioned in economic terms, which could either help groups find kindred economic spirits (looking at the commies, for example) or find a nice authoritarian nation to make your super weapons.

So this version has a few parts to it.

The first is the economic style of your nation. This will help people understand how to roleplay with your nation or businesses when it comes to trade deals, as free markets tend to deal with these matters outside of government channels.

Next comes specialty resources. This will follow the previous system, where nations will get two specialties, one primary resource (these are natural resources like lumber, ores, or agriculture) and one secondary resource (manufacturing and other man made goods). One may choose to take a Tertiary resource (service industries) in lieu of one of the other two options.

Next are Exports. These are resources your nation has that are necessarily the best in Cynosure. You will be permitted to choose up to five resources which your nation will export. If these mix at all with specialty resources, they will either not be permitted (in cases of unique resources localized to the nation in question) or inferior in one or more ways to the specialty resource. This could mean that the export is of lower quality, more expensive, or not as accessible. These are in addition to your specialty resource, meaning they can be different.

Finally there are Imports. Nations generally need things to survive, whether it's as simple as food and water, or as fickle as tourists. For every export a nation chooses to take, they will need to also have an import. This is to help encourage nations to work together, as well as mesh more realism into the system as a whole.

Nations that had claims in the last system will have one month to renew their claim on their specialty resource. After this time period they will lose their claims.
