We'll see if Arke can translate this right for those aliens on The Nexus. This is the first edition, alien, so please inform us of any translation issues as your languages are beyond counting.
Indeed. Well onto the main stories for this solar cycle. We'll start with the biggest event and that is the conflict being conducted against the Ella'ans at the gate. Thousands of vessels were involved in the fighting and after, according to reports from the Lord Admiral of the First Fleet, the Ella'an Expeditionary Fleet has thrown up the White Flag of Fealty while calling for an armistice. Hundreds of Imperial Navel Vessels were heavily damaged with dozens beyond repair and awaiting salvage. Their request for fealty and armistice comes directly afterwards to a live fire test upon the interstellar vomitorium. Primarily Corvettes. Civilian spectators inform us that the Ella'ans were also building large ringlike structures before their call was given. What do you take of this, Decurion?
This seems to be more of an attempt at sabotage through political means. In an attempt to put their entire fleet to bear and for them to finish their construction project uncontested. It is likely they'll start mewling about war crimes, much like the more pacifist species across the universe has puled about. I very much see them making the contention that their staging point to be under a weapons free zone despite the existence of military assets pointing to the contrary as well as removing a veteran admiral leaving a command vacuum within the fleet.
Yes, it would so seem, though considering that we know very little about Kashara'a can we really tell if they know of Admiral Akir and his war history? Would their Gilded Command even care about some random admiral who coincidentally has experience from a war that occurred before they were even born?
Intelligence is always a necessary weapon and, despite the objections from the Gilded, Her Scion has demanded that we share Qora's culture and history with aliens unknown to us. Some of these disgusting aliens, as we all know, can make literal tears of reality to power their hateful technology. We've all seen the video feeds of Her Scion nearly dying upon entering their hateful realm. She has given the enemy our ways of war on a silver platter so why wouldn't they use every single piece of it against us in their war against our very currency?
That begs the question. With holding the portal now untenable how worried should the citizenry be?
Interestingly, the Banner Lords on Qorsika have gone together and studied the manuscripts they've acquired from The Nexus. I honestly doubt if they would abide by their own rules, but it is at least something to go off of. Anyway, the banner lords have reached consensus and released a public statement that was released to us live. Unfortunately the studio disallows us the use of recorded audio so I will instead paraphrase the transcript to avoid litigation. It reads, unarmed citizenry are under no danger as the Ella'an are trained to discharge their weapons second in all scenarios. In this although they outnumber Her People greatly this is due to doctrinal incompetence. It is strongly advised to avoid confrontation. Constables though, defined as civilian under the war declaration, should not abstain from their peacekeeping duties in accordance to the laws set out by their lords. The general rule is to not interact with them and proceed with your regular life. They're at war with the Imperial Government and not its people.
Well, there we have it. What more diabolical machinations will Kashara of Ella use against us to undermine Her Authority? We'll tell you as soon as we learn more.
Shortly after the War Declaration by Kashara and Her King the Autologists have came forward and requested Theological Discussion with Her People. Her Scion, The Nefarious Blue Gemstone, has acquiesced and has set forth into their realm. Though this is where things took a turn for the worse. The Engines used to go faster than light itself ceased to function at all. They have failed to inform Her and Her People that Faster Than Light travel is not possible within their reality. The Empress and Her Entourage has proceeded to fly towards the station of Triton. Theological Discussion has been made. Perhaps we'll find Her, though this entire thing stinks of a trap to me. Your thoughts, Petty Officer?
Theology. That was never a really strong topic of mine. If I was any good at it I wouldn't be a Mass Commsman. Though it being a trap seems very unlikely. Her Shining Chariot, although is not an armed vessel, does have a garrison of Espatier Corps on it and with it a HWP piloted by Vishnu. I'm sure as your hobby of Historiography you'd be aware of that AI.
I am. That's the same AI that sent one of its drones on a Gaia'an vessel on a boarding action through an orbital rendezvous that started planet-bound. Boring through the vessel's hull with its tail laser and claw before tearing the entire vessel apart internally and turning the 300 ton vessel into scrap metal.
Exactly. If they attempt to fire on Her Shining Chariot then Vishnu would be in the perfect position to make them regret it. As for the lack of faster than light drive that's... going to require some technobabble that I'm clearly not qualified for. I'm not a Technomancer nor have I had training under one. As a Technomancer would probably say the Gravitational Manipulators are unable to aggregate to their full potential and to limit energy waste they put themselves out of commission. All of this looks like pure circumstance to me. We, as more lay individuals, would absolutely have no idea what that means though we can infer that even the Autologists wouldn't even have this technology. Qora only has obtained this technology only a few centuries ago after all.
I'm still rather suspicious of this, though. How would the Espatiers fare against a boarding action on docking?
Well, the Espatiers are highly trained and well armed. Any boarding action that may take place can be easily rebuffed quickly and efficiently. Their weapons and armour being more than a match for the Autologist technology. Although with what we know of them they're more on the lesser armed species and heavily underpopulated. I doubt they'll want to start a police action. Even if the quarantine is still in effect She'll temporarily lift it to send an expeditionary fleet and put them down. You'll be quite surprised of the effort we've put to make our vessels modular enough to move through the gates despite their pathetically small size limitation.
Fair. Seems She is in good hands in alien space.
Ghost Fleet
Now this is an interesting sight. In accordance to the Interstellar Buoys the Ghost Fleet has entered the Heliosphere of Kern. With its current speed it'll fly into the gravity well of the second gas giant. For you Interstellar enthusiasts this is a rare event so if you can make time to see this fleet then you should. Observe the sailing guidelines your IDF officers put forth. The guidelines are there for your safety.
Daiacus, what's so special about this "ghost fleet."
The Ghost Fleet is a fleet of vessels obsolete for over a millennium. Far before the discovery and proliferation of faster than light travel. What makes the Ghost Fleet so interesting is that it has recorded events of running into an Interdimensional Horror. A great beast that dwarfs the titanic vessel Her Cleansing Sword. The best I can describe it is a dragon that was partially in our reality while tearing through a black hole. It was ultimately killed after a several hour fleet action against it but unfortunately all hands were killed by phenomena that still eludes us.
Sounds ominous. How do you mean?
We simply don't know how they died. Externally there's only light damage to the vessels but expeditions into the ships show everything was immaculate. No signs of battle, no damage other than the normal wear and tear of machines working, nothing. Not even the crew was aboard. All expeditionary members just disappeared after making the report. We've had the AI send drones into the vessels and they simply lose psionic connection upon entry. Listeners, whatever you think may come out of it do not board the vessels.
Well an ancient fleet still flying around? Being able to study and look at ancient ship design certainly sounds interesting.
Aye, that it does. So don't miss it. The next sighting for the Ghost Fleet isn't going to happen in another century.
Natural Wormhole Discovered
Well, this is out of my purview as an Imperial Army Non Commissioned Officer, but a stable wormhole has been discovered in the southern edge of the galaxy. The 37th Fleet has been sent as an Expeditionary Force to survey it and to determine whether or not there are any suitable candidates for colonization. Sounds like good news and the chance to turn Her State into an interdimensional polity. From their last transmission sent to us there's little to note as they're attempting to make a galactic map before surveying for any sapient life that has attained void travel. What challenges do they face?
Other than being suddenly ambushed by a technologically and numerically superior alien force? If they are still able to keep their connection to Her in this other reality, if it is one, there is very little actual danger other than getting lost. The Fleet Carrier, which literally carries the fleet, has most of the resources required to sustain the 37th. Both Logistics and Fleet carriers are able to grow enough food and carry enough water to sustain the fleet for approximately a decade without needing to harvest more base materials from gas giants and terrestrial planets. Though this report is rather interesting. They have with them a Banner. I have absolutely no idea what that means as for us Naval Personnel we aren't given explicit permission to make planet fall. How would colonization efforts start?
Now that's something I can talk about. We start for searching for any freshwater sources and then doing geologic surveys near those freshwater sources. It isn't any good to build a home somewhere only for it to sink into the ground while you're building it. We do this on a planet wide scale. In the meantime we'll also be studying the local flora and fauna to see how our presence would affect them and how they would affect us. We study the planet for several years from orbit while making a large number of planet side expeditions to determine habitability. If everything is fine then we'll rename the planetary system to Her Planetary Throne In This Galaxy or whatever we've decided to name the place. Until then it's up to the Lord Admiral in what it's named.
Sounds like quite a lot of work to start a colonization effort. I hope this kind of dissuades the aliens' thinking that our army are just a bunch of brutes and that they're actually scientifically minded. Well, looks like that's the signal for us to end this broadcast. Until next time, this is Naval Mass Commsman, Chief Petty Officer Daiacus and Public Relations Specialist, Decurion Aduzar.
