Volkovian Biology.
The Volkovian people are a species hailing from the planet Volkov, they are a bipedal mammalian species with hindlegs instead of legs found on other bipedal species like Humans or Ellians, the majority of Volkovian's skin colour is a darkish blue or a blueish green, however, there is a rare chance to find a Volkovian with dark purple skin.
The Color of their iris is also different from that of humans, with the most common eye colour being scarlet, whilst their rarest eye colour is blue, other eye colours include, red, purple, pink, gold, or a mix of any of the aforementioned eye colours.
The hair of the Volkovians isn't like human hair, it grows incredibly fast and is very thick and generally grows long for both genders, brown is the most common hair whilst purple and red are the rarest.
Volkovians on the average stand at various heights, this is due to the very low levels of sexual dimorphism, thus leading to different variants of Volkovians emerging, the smallest of which is the El-Volkovians, the El-Volkovians are usually from 4'6 to 5'4, this applies to both male and females, De-Volkovians are usually from 5'6 to 6'6, this again applies to both males and females, and finally the Ar-Volkovians, who stand at 6'8 to 7'6, applying to both male and female, some Ar-Volkovians from certain worlds have been recorded to be up to 9 feet tall.
Height is not the only change between the sub-species, one of the largest differences is in how they act, since Volkovians of all kind initially are genderless as fetuses, and then develope into their respective genders, traits of both genders seep into the other, for example, Ar-Volkovians are more hormone-induced, even for females, making them physically larger and more aggressive, whilst El-Volkovians contain little to no Hormones, males enough to be considered male, and females virtually none, resulting in them being more passive and less aggressive, as well as considerably smaller in size.
Volkovian Reproduction is similar to all mammals, male impregnants female, female bears child, female gives birth to live child, Volkovians, however, have a much faster rate of development, and an odder one, at that, all Volkovian females usually bear a child for 5 months before birth, for De-Volkovians and Ar-Volkovians, 3 out of the 5 months they can effectively go along their day unimpeded, there is a slight change in emotions and how they act, tending to be more cautious when bearing the unborn fetus, by month 4, their activities are limited, in the military, it is limited to desk duties, and other non-physical work, by month 5, they are usually unable to do much work and have to be put in a hospital to make sure the child is birthed safely.
Volkovian History.
Whilst the world the Volkovians may live on maybe a beautiful world of large planes and rolling hills, for much of its history, the Volkovian people have been at each other throats, waging seemingly endless wars, in total, there are only a recorded 4 years, 3 months and 12 days of peace among pre-Planetary Unification War Volkovians.
The so-called "Great Awakening" began in 3713, or 9,372 BVE, is the event in which the usage of "Aldaci" magic, or the ability to warp time and space, and even reality, to the users will more commonly refer to as warpers began to appear in much larger numbers and with much more powerful abilities, some even had the ability to bridge the inconceivable distance between stars, allowing for interstellar travel.
Forwarding a few hundred years, and various Volkovian nations are scattered across the galaxy, this was during the rise of the Belvanki Swarm, a bug like species that came from outside the galaxy, it's first target was the United Federation of Earth, the largest and most powerful civilization at the time, whilst the UFE held off the Swarm, a Volkovian name Kav 'Ar Tovich, the current ruler of the home planet of Takov, the original name of Volkov, declared himself Emperor of the Greater Volkovian Empire, once he declared himself Emperor, he mustered up a massive army and massive navy, Volkovian folk tale says his ships were as numerous as the stars and his soldiers as uncountable as the grass, this is partially revisionist propaganda, but it is known that the Emperor contained a large military force, Emperor Tovich I declared the "Greater Unification War", which is currently referred to as the First Unification Wars, in this war, the Emperor and his talented belt of high ranking general staff were able to conquer the vast majority of Volkovian populated territory, save for the self-declared "Republic of Delvai", this is all that is known as pure fact for during the First Unification Wars, thanks to thousands of years of revisionism and knowledge being lost, much of what is inbetween varies from near impossible feats, to lacking any information at all.
Beyond a few other minor things, much of the knowledge on the history of the Empire has been lost in the Sack of Volkov in 97,439 AVU, in which the vast majority of the planet was burnt to the ground by the largest band of pirates in the recorded history of the galaxy, since then, the history of the Empire has been lost due to their belief that all knowledge of the history of the Empire should be at the Imperial Capital.
The Empire's Current Situation.
Currently, the Empire is fighting a losing battle of survival on multiple different fronts, whilst still the largest and strongest power in the galaxy, it's unable to use it's vast power due to the amount of rebellion, civil war, external invasion, corruption, and all other sorts of destabilizing forces attacking it all at once.
It has a population of 138 trillion, this is a greatly reduced number from the "Great Dying" that wiped out 40% of the Volkovian Population, this was a combination of disease, economic collapse, famine, warfare, and other things of the sort, and as stated before, is in a dire state.
